Van, a Vietnamese boatwoman, participated in ESL classes for three years. Her daughter attended GED classes , and after receiving her diploma went on to college.  Van’s class chose her to address the guests at our Closing Ceremony. Recently Van wrote from Texas: ”It is wonderful that I can make friends and communicate with everyone. Moreover, I got a job to contribute to society and take care of my life. To be thankful, I send this check.  It is very meaningful because this is the first one hundred hour money that I earned in the U. S.”
