Position Overview

The Supervisor of Grounds performs and oversees a wide range of landscaping and maintenance tasks. This individual plays a hands鈥憃n leadership role, ensuring that campus grounds are maintained to the highest standards of quality and appearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises Groundskeeping staff of 5
• Perform and supervise landscaping activities including pruning, planting, weeding, fertilizing, and general lawn care
• Perform and supervise mowing, trimming, and edging of lawns, including athletic and recreational fields
• Operate blowers and other equipment to maintain clean walkways, landscaped areas, and parking lots
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair groundskeeping tools and machinery
• Keep all outdoor areas free of trash, debris, and hazards
• Identify, report, and recommend improvements or issues to the Director
• Assist Maintenance and Housekeeping departments when needed
• Support campus moving needs such as relocating furniture, chairs, and equipment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong attention to detail in all grounds maintenance tasks
• Working knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, and best practices

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., blowers, sprayers, compressors)
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in groundskeeping or landscaping
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver鈥檚 license
