Administrative Assistant & Student Engagement Coordinator
Reports To: Director of the Tom Elliff Center for Missions
Status: Full-Time
Anticipated Start: Prior to Fall 2026 Semester
POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant and Student Engagement Coordinator provides essential administrative, logistical, and relational support for the Tom Elliff Center for Missions. This role supports the day-to-day execution of the Center’s core programs, including mission trip and travel coordination, while contributing to a welcoming and spiritually encouraging environment for students.
Working closely with the Director and Senior Advisors, this position helps ensure operational consistency and fosters meaningful connections with students involved in the Center. This role is critical in establishing strong operational foundations and a healthy student engagement culture during the early growth phase of the Center.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration & Operations Assistance
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for the Tom Elliff Center for Missions and any related training initiatives.
- Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students, guests, faculty, and ministry partners visiting TECM spaces.
- Maintain a consistent and hospitable front-office presence during regular business hours.
- Manage the TECM team calendar, meeting schedules, and internal communication.
- Facilitate announcements, reservations, and internal coordination through Slack, Outlook, and other approved platforms.
Logistics & Travel Coordination
- Provide basic logistical support for student mission trips and team travel.
- Assist with ticket purchases, registration, and receipt collection as needed.
- Ensure all policies, forms, and itineraries are organized and communicated clearly.
- Be willing to occasionally travel to represent TECM as requested.
Student & Campus Engagement
- Build meaningful relationships with students and faculty on UM campus through regular presence at events, gatherings, and informal interactions.
- Assist in coordinating and encouraging student catalysts who support TECM events, gatherings, and initiatives.
- Connect students with appropriate staff or resources for guidance and spiritual formation.
- Encourage student participation in TECM programs and involvement in local churches.
- Track participant involvement and annual statistics related to TECM events.
Hospitality & Media Support
- Assist in organizing, preparing, and maintaining TECM spaces to ensure they are clean, functional, and welcoming for students, guests, and ministry partners.
- Contribute to a vibrant team culture that is Christ-centered and Great Commission-driven.
- Support the management of TECM social media accounts under the direction of the Director and in coordination with University Marketing & Communications.
- Assist in capturing, editing, and sharing appropriate content that reflects the TECM mission and activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with the ɬÀï·¬ community, campus culture, and institutional systems is preferred.
